Siedah Garrett was born in Los Angeles in 1963.

She is a top name on the West Coast session singer scene, and a protege of Quincy Jones.

Whiie she has been signed to Quincy's Qwest label, her finest moments have included guest lead / co-lead vocals for artists including Tom Browne ('Secret Fantasy'), Dennis Edwards ('Don't Look Any Further'), Michael Jackson ('I Just Can't Stop Loving You'), Sergio Mendes ('Brasil '86') and Quincy Jones himself ('One Man Woman').

As a songwriter her work has been recorded by artists including Michael Jackson ('Man In The Mirror'), Aretha Franklin ('Mercy'), Natalie Cole ('As A Matter Of Fact') and once again Quincy Jones (co-writing 'One Man Woman', 'Wee B. Dooinit', 'The Secret Garden' and 'Tomorrow').

She has recorded background vocals with George Howard, The Commodores, Sarah Vaughan, El Debarge, Glenn Jones, Hinton Battle and numerous others.

In 1997, Siedah took the role as lead vocalist for the U.K. soul group the Brand New Heavies, taking over from Ndea Davenport.

Her vocals can be heard on a version of James Taylor's 'You've Got A Friend'.

In 2003, she returned with the album 'Siedah' on the OmTown Records imprint.
