Tony Terry was a backing vocalist for groups such as Sweet Sensation and the Boogie Boys before embarking on a solo career.

Born into a musical family all members sang gospel.

Aged six he and his family moved to Washington where Tony sang in a gospel group The Freedom Gospel Singers with his sister and two cousins.

Wanting to sing secular R & B music, he enrolled at the Duke Ellington School for The Performing Arts and later auditioned for Duke Ellington with whom he also trained.

After this experience he left for New York and landed a stage role in 'Black Nativity'.

Through a chance social night out at New York's Danceteria, Tony met producer Ted Currier.

Tony has been winning fans all over the country for over a decade as a premier solo artist.

His style appeals to all ages, and his multi-selling hits, 'She's Fly','Lovey Dovey' and 'With you', continues to sell, and have become timeless soul classics.

In recent years he has collaborated with gospel songstress Yolanda Adams on a duet entitled, 'You've gotta have love', as well as with new gospel artists, Denver Wright and The Collective on their hit 'If Your Gonna Pray'.

As well he has been featured on soundtrack for the movie 'Gladiator' starring Cuba Gooding Jr.

Tony has released four albums 'Forever Yours', 'Tony Terry', 'The Heart of a Man' and 'My Best', as well as placed in the top ten of the top ten of the Billboard Charts.

He, also, received a nomination from Soul Train's Artist of the Year Award prior to deciding to take time off from recording to perform in various off Broadway productions.

Tony's acting and singing has best been described as 'soul stirring,' 'emotionally soaring,' and 'heart warming'.

His acting credits include the world reknowned production of 'The Wiz', Tony has been featured in 'Sisterella' co-produced by Michael Jackson, 'Mama I Want to Sing,' (He eventually took over the lead after the original singer failed to show up one night) and more recently, David E. Talbert's 'His Woman, His Wife,' co-starring Stephanie Mills.

After making his landmark achievements in the performing arts Tony Terry has returned to recording with a new image, new sound and a new hit album modestly entitled, 'My Best,' and indeed he has acheived success with his new hit single 'In the Shower', which is currently receiving heavy rotation on radio stations across the country.

Tony is a pure example of desire and determination.

He's evolved throughout his career and still has been able to hold on to the essence of which he really is, a 'True R & B Entertainer'.

Tony explains, 'I am grateful for all I've been able to achieve, but I'm not finished yet...' and still has many future ambitions he wishes to come to fruition.

As he has recently expressed, Tony would like his fans both old and new to experience him as an artist who is willing to give the best he's got and then some.

'My Best' takes a major step forward in his future plans.

The album features club tracks such as 'Love Fiend,' a smooth sexy ballad entitled, 'Easy To Love'.

Tony is back and he's on a mission to represent and give his fans exactly what they've been asking for and that's R & B at its finest. Tony Terry style.

Tony is currently touring in 'Jus The Four Of Us' featuring the soul recording artists Glenn Jones, Howard Hewett and Phil Perry.

These showcased their diverse talents as romantic balladeers across the U.S.
