Adriana Evans

b. San Francisco, California, U.S.A.

Adriana Evans is also known as Adriana Madera.

She is the daughter of the jazz singer, Mary Stallings, who sang with Count Basie and Dizzy Gillespie and issued a series of fine solo records.

Adriana was raised in the Haight / Asbury district of San Francisco.

When she was 18, she befriended the aspiring rapper Dred Scott and collaborated on his 1994 album 'Breakin' Combs'.

Her debut album on PMP / Loud / RCA records was released in 1997 and was one of the first albums described as 'Neo Classic Soul'.

Her musical collaborator, Dred utilised real strings and horns, a rhythm section along with musicians playing live music.

This gave the set an 'old skool' flavour, epitomised by the melody 'Looking For Your Love', a song that became highly popular amongst the Real Soul fraternity in the U.K.

Seven years after her first solo outing, Adriana released a new album in 2004 (following an extensive global sebatacle).

She travelled to Mexico, her home town and Brazil.

'Nomadic' was a mix of Latin, Soul, Rock and Jazz influences.

Adriana Evans

2007 saw the release of the album 'El Camino' for the U.K. based Expansion Records label.
